Above is Milkweed, a painting I finished last year. Recently, I entered a digital copy of it into The Art of Watercolour magazine's online Readers' Competition. I consider this magazine the best w/c magazine in the world and use it as a teaching tool. I'd entered the competition twice in the past to no avail. But, nothing ventured, nothing gained, Right?
The latest issue of the magazine was in the mail this morning. I'd kind of forgotten that I'd entered and quickly skimmed through the 8 pages of winning entries. Feeling a little sad that my picture wasn't good enough, I went back to the first page and.... there it was!
The mincemeat apple pie I made this morning will now become a celebratory pie..... because we will be eating it with ice cream.
