I can't believe that I have time to paint today. Even though it is more than beautiful outside, I feel that I want to be inside, looking out at the beauty while I paint. Progress has been slow ever since gardening started. That is life.
The painting is telling me where to go. I am attracted to the intricacy of the webbing in the chair. The vegetation behind the chair has to find a way of coming through to the viewer's eyes. I want the background to be somewhat abstract, just suggesting where she was sitting.... next to the vegetable garden.
I am so happy with her toes. They seem to be fully animated by the fun she was having reading our home-made Mad Gabs story.
