Frances - Update #2

Summer time and painting don't always go hand in hand for me. Today, I gave myself the reward of spending time with this painting AFTER I'd done 3 hours' weeding in the garden. Should never go on holidays!

I am fairly happy with how this painting is coming along. The lawn chair's webbing took some serious concentration. I think I may have to go back in and darken quite a bit of it. I want it to play nicely with the book and shadows under her legs. I think I'll get the rest of the vegetation painted and then look at it. I find that usually paintings tell you what is needed as you work through them.
