I was concerned that when I started painting, I'd have problems. It took me a long time to get a fairly accurate likeness of Nora and I'd done a lot of erasing around her eyes, nose and mouth. Sometimes, when you erase, it removes some of the sizing on the paper and then it accepts the paint in a different manner. It absorbs more.

I think it's going to be OK! This morning, I started painting and it seems to be working well. I am using Arches 300 lb. cold press paper and it can take a lot of punishment without affecting your painting. Phew!

Starting a painting is always the hardest part for me. Now that it's started, I should be able to work away at it at random times in the coming weeks.
