This painting can tell a story, if it wants to.
Our first Covid-19 lockdown had been somewhat lifted. We hadn't seen these grandchildren for over half a year and we took a chance to visit outdoors at Ball's Mill Conservation area.
I would imagine that for someone who was just five years old, and having lived in the city her entire life, the woods might have felt a bit daunting.
I am hoping this picture tells the story of love and trust between a dad and his daughter in uncertain and confusing times. I am purposely leaving the leaves somewhat abstract and harsh looking to represent the possibly perceived danger (in a little girl's mind).
