From Today's Workshop

Updated: Feb 29, 2020

Student sketching owl

I am always blown away by how much my drawing students learn in a one day workshop. Today's "See Better, Draw Better" drawing workshop did not disappoint. This workshop is designed to be a non-stressful place to learn new drawing skills and/or improve upon the skills they have. Many of today's students had not drawn much in their lives. I give the artists activities that teach them to see shapes, lines, tone, etc. They draw their footwear up-side-down! They do blind contour portraits of fellow artists. Finally, they get to choose from some great photos to draw a final picture. This was one of them. A wonderful hairy looking owl. This artist had the guts to make her darks dark enough and boy! I was impressed.

Due to demand, there will be another of these workshops on Monday, February 5th, 2018, at The Painted Tree, art store in beautiful downtown Cobourg, ON. Contact them to register and pre-pay.
